We went straight to Zilker Park when we got there and walked through the nature exhibit in the cave. Ben looks so grown up in this photo!
I liked this quote on the wall...
Then we got on the mini train ride...
Afterwards we put on our bathing suits to try out the spring fed Barton Springs pool. The water was so cold and the boys refused to get in, so dad jumped off the diving board as an attempt to entice them...
No luck... they stayed on the side of the pool with me. So, we decided to leave and find a place for lunch!
After lunch, we went to the hotel to shower and rest up before going to see the famous Austin bats come out...
Cool bat sculpture by Congress Bridge...
Looking over the bridge at the people kyaking...
Walking around while waiting for sunset...
Coincidentally, Austin's annual Bat Festival was going on that day so we saw some fun things like this bat bike!
And a butterfly bike...
Everyone was ready for the bats to make their appearance from underneath the bridge...
Somehow these little cuties talked us into getting them these over priced light up toys... which one broke before we even made it back to the hotel!
And they convinced us to get these over priced Batman and Spider Man popsicles too...
Family selfie... mom is the only normal one in this family.
The bats started to come out... it was quite a spectacular sight!
Pictures can't do the magnitude of this event justice...
So glad the boys got to experience this!
Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and had ourselves a little pizza party...
And headed home the next day!
