It took just shy of 7 1/2 months from start to finish, including countless hours, materials, 8 gallons of primer and paint, aches and pains, and many stops and delays in between, but the playhouse is finally ready to be enjoyed! (I won't say it's finally "complete" since we'll probably continue to add a few embellishments here and there, such as a house number, mailbox, curtains, etc.!) So, yesterday, Evan occupied the boys out front while I quickly decorated with all the things we've been saving for months. We had some super hero wall clings left over from their new bedroom so we also used them to decorate the walls (and help make the yellow interior a little more boyish!). Here it is...
The big reveal...
Taking it all in...
They were completely giddy with excitement!
I asked them to stand underneath their super heroes for a picture, but they were still too excited to stay still!
Trying out their new table from Oma and Opa Berg...
They quickly ran inside to gather some toys to bring to their playhouse...
The first of many play times in their own little place...
Time to try out the floor cushions...
Ben decided to redecorate a little...
Resting from all the excitement! (Please excuse their too-short pants. I obviously didn't plan their outfits very well for this special day!)
Love. :)
Looking for daddy through the peep hole...
First of many snacks in their play house!
Now it's time to plan a house warming party!
