The Bergs in the Big Apple!

About four weeks ago, we went on our second family trip... to New York City!  This time, Evan's parents AND my parents came along.  Uncle Eric and Aunt Alisha along with Audrey also met us there.  How lucky are these boys?  My parents had never been to New York, so they were excited to go for the first time with a group of real New Yorkers that could show them around.  We were in New York for five nights, so this blog post has a ton of pictures.

To begin with, here I am with the boys all snug in their car seats attached to the oh-so-convenient Go Go Kidz Travelmate.  We had just arrived in New York and were waiting for Evan's dad to pick us up (our parents left on an earlier flight) and take us to our wonderful Aunt Pat and Sue's house on Stanten Island where we stayed during our trip.

The next day, we took the Stanten Island ferry to the city and began our LONG day of sightseeing.  The next few pictures show just a few of the places we visited that day.

The Bergs with the Statue of Liberty far behind us...

The Bergs infront of the Brooklyn Bridge...

The boys went on their very first carousel ride in beautiful Bryant Park...  I thought they would be a little scared, but they actually loved it!  Such big boys :)

After the ride, we sat down and fed the boys dinner.  Here they are, each sitting on an Oma's lap...

And, here we are infront of the amazing Grand Central station...

The sun was setting by the time we got back to the ferry...

The next day, while Evan and I attended Uncle Rich's wedding, the boys were being spoiled by Aunt Pat, Aunt Sue, and my parents!

It appears, they were taken on a walk around the neighborhood...

The busy stroller came out again the next day as we headed back to the city and straight to Central Park to take the boys to the Central Park Zoo!  Here they are waiting outside of the zoo while dad went to buy tickets...

And here we are inside the zoo...

Here are Bryce and cousin Audrey loving the penguins...

Mommy and Benjamin...

The Berg Bunch + one Wyanta...

Our next stop was F.A.O. Schwarz!  While Audrey was having fun playing with her dad and uncles...

Our boys were sound asleep!

While Oma and Opa were having fun with the pandas, one finally woke up...

The Berg Bunch + two Wyantas + one Uncle Rich infront of F.A.O.

The boys and Audrey each got an F.A.O. bear from their Oma.  Here is Audrey trying to play with her cousins...

Radio City Music Hall...

Exhausted and hungry, we all stopped at a small pizza joint for some delicious New York-style pizza...

The next day, we had lunch at an Italian restaurant to celebrate Unc's retirement from the UN.  Here is Bryce trying really hard to steal his cousin's pink paci...

And here's Ben looking so handsome with Opa and Oma...

Congrats on your retirement, Unc!

After lunch, we decided to walk to Central Park to take the kids on the big carousel...

Evan and I carried our sleeping boys 20 blocks!!!  By the time we got to the park, I was dripping with sweat and lost all feelings in my arms!

The Central Park carousel was much bigger and turned alot faster than the kiddie one at Bryant Park.  But, the boys still loved it!  As you can see, I was barely tall enough to hold Bryce...

The second time around, I decided to ride on the horse with Ben... that was scary!

Unbeknownst to us, that afternoon while we were enjoying the city, there was an attempted terrorist bombing on Time Square... OMG!  We were right in the middle of it all!

On our last day before heading to the airport, we stopped at a delicious Jewish deli for lunch.  Here we are posing inside an old subway cart that was actually inside the restaurant...

By the end of the trip, our boys were completely exhausted!  Benjamin barely made it through lunch...

It was a great trip, and we were so glad to be able to take the boys to their dad's hometown.  Next month... we head to dad's "other" hometown of Sunset Beach, NC!  Also the place where we got married just two years ago!
